KC Select Scream
The KC
Select Scream USA U13 girls soccer team won the Missouri state Cup for the second time. When they won the State cup in 2004, they were the first team, boys or girls not from St. Louis to ever win the State cup! Due to a rules change, team Scream had to
wait until this year to defend its championship title, and the players did it handily beating the Arsenal 3-1. Scream scored 33 goals overall and only allowed one goal the entire tournament.
Missouri Valley Eclipse
The Eclipse 12U team came in third this year at the AAU National Finals in Kingsport, Tennessee from among eighty four teams from
the United States and Canada. The past two years the young ladies have taken fourth place.
The Eclipse 11U girl’s team is the National AAU Champions; they brought home the championship trophy with a win over the
Tennessee Xtreme in Springfield, Missouri.
KC Blue
The KC Blue 14U boy’s team won the USSSA National Championship in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for the second year in a row. They
also placed fifth in the AAU Nationals in Orlando

KC Bruins
The 7th Grade boys KC placed third in the AAU National Basketball Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. This is the fourth year
the KC Bruins have placed in the top five. The Bruins also played in another elite tournament, The Vision Sports National Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, and placed second out of 44 teams.

Kansas City Rowing Club
Summers Nelson, 2006 graduate of Notre Dame De Sion, competed in the US Rowing's National Championship, July 19, 2006, in Indianapolis, IN. Medaling three years in a row, Summers won this year's National Championship in the Women's Junior Double with her
doubles partner Liz Barnett (Long Island, NY). Summers is also the silver medalist in the Women's Junior Single. Summers will be attending the University of Virginia in the fall on a rowing scholarship.
Kansas City Soap Box
Hilary Pearson of Topeka, Kansas represented the Kansas City Soap Box Derby Association in The Ultimate Speed Division in Akron, Ohio the week of July 16-22, 2006 at the 69th All-American Soap Box Derby
World Championship Race, placing 2nd.
KCFC Alliance Intensity
13U Girls Soccer -- Won the Region II Soccer Tournament defeating Ohio Elite, from Cincinnatti,OH 2-1 in overtime. With the Regional win, the Intensity is now ranked #4 in the Nation among u-13 girls soccer
teams. The Intensity beat the State Cup winners from 14 states in region II to gain the championship. Congratulations! Team KC
1st Place at Kansas USSSA State
Tournament -- Championship Game - Team Kansas City 7th Grade Boys vs Missouri Timberwolves - The Timberwolves were the defending Kansas State champions from 2005; they're a great group of athletes with a top notch coaching staff. TKC won the championship game by 18
point and earned a berth to the USSSA Nationals in Fort Wayne Indiana.

This competitive basketball team located in Independence, MO, won the Missouri State championship for USSSA in SpringField, Missouri this past February and they also took 1st place in the Kansas State USSSA championship in their division, the first week of
March, 2006. Congratulations!

6th Grade Boys 1st Place Show Me State Games, Columbia, MO)
The Northland Tigers 6th grade boys team just won first place in the 2006 Show me State Games in Columbia Missouri, beating out teams from East St.
Louis, Jefferson City and Columbia, Missouri.

Champion-Hershey's Track & Field
9 year old, Jimmy's path to his National championship 1st Place finish begin locally with competition in Gladstone, MO, which he won qualifying him for the state
meet. Not only did Jimmy win the state meet he also set the state record.
Regional directors then selected a handful of qualifiers to compete in the National/International event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he competed against the best in the USA & Canada!

Legends Basketball
Grabs 100th Win!
The Legends, a 7th grade boys basketball team from the Blue Springs/Independence area that formed in 2003, notched their 100th career
victory October 26, 2007 in the Y.E.S programs www.yeswbrg.com inaugural tournament. The guys also captured
victory #101 in the same tournament! The Legends lifetime record…101-78.

Announces Results
LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. - July 11, 2007 - The Lee’s Summit Track Club announced today that eight area youth who participated in the
June 28 - July 1 American Amateur Athletes (AAU) Region VIII finals in Joplin, Mo., have qualified for the Junior Olympics to be held in Knoxville, TN. from July 25 - August 4, 2007.
Athletes who achieve first through fourth place at the Regional event are invited to compete nationally.
The athletes, their ages, the events and results from the Region VII meet are:
Alex Burau, age 15, 2000 meter Steeplechase. (Placed 3rd) attends Lee’s Summit West
Blake Burau, age 10, 3000 meter run. (Placed 2nd) attends Summit Point Elementary
Alex Fanning, age 11, 100 meter dash (Placed 3rd) attends Lee’s Summit Community Christian
Caleb Gotway, age 9, 1500 meter run (Placed 4th) attends Summit Point Elementary
Davian Hawkins, age 11, Long jump (Placed 2nd) attends Prairie View Elementary
Meghan Kearney, age 10, 800 meter run (Placed 4th) attends Lee’s Summit Community Christian
Cierra Rollin, age 11, Long jump (Placed 2nd) attends Summit Point Elementary
Demarrius Young, age 11, 1500 meter run (Placed 4th) attends Lincoln Prep Middle
“Earning an invitation to the national AAU Junior Olympics is a tremendous achievement,” said Lee’s Summit Track Club coach,
Greg Miller. “The effort these kids made to get to this level of competition is admirable. Our community should be proud that these young people are keeping the joy of track and field alive.”
The Lee’s Summit Track Club was established in 2005 by Coach Greg Miller to encourage and cultivate area track and field
athletes. The club’s membership includes 36 boys and girls who train from early spring through mid summer at the Lee’s Summit West High School track. The club is open to youth of all skill levels between the ages of 8 to 18. For more information about

June 29-July 7, 2007, in Rochester, MN. The team will once again attend and play in this elite National Championship which teams nationwide must qualify for. This year the team will go into the tournament as the number 1 seed among a field of some 80
nationwide teams.

Congratulations Metro Heat 4th grade- for winning the Championships at three MAYB tournaments this summer: MAYB Summer Kick-off in Newton, KS June 9-11th. Leavenworth MAYB tournament- June 2-4th and the MAYB Lawrence Tournament July 14th-16th
4th Grade Metro Heat-3rd Place in USSSA National Championships in Ft. Wayne Indiana. The 4th grade boys went undefeated in pool play -then took third in the overall tournament. Way to play!
Huskies/Mustangs
4th grade boys! - The boys went undefeated the entire USSSA tournament and clinched the champioship in Division 1 beating Team St. Louis for the title as USSSA National Champions in the 4th grade boys Division 1. Congratulations!

Mercury Gymnastics
On April 16, 2006, Morgan Shene and Hannah Churshman competed in the Level 9 Western National Championships in Colorado Springs, CO. Morgan got 10th place All-Around and Hannah received 15th place in All-Around. -- Mercury Gymnastics provides a gymnastics
facility which offers preschool and recreational boys and
girls gymnastics with a very successful competitive team.
On March 17, 2006 the Mercury Level 5 Boys competitive team took 1st place at the Missouri State Championships; the Level 4 Boys
competitive team took second
place.
KCFC Alliance Intensity
On April 23, 2006, the girls KCFC u-13 team won the Brentwood Adidas Premier soccer tournament defeating the Dallas Sting (ranked nationally as #7 in the u-13 age group) in a double overtime shoot out, 3-2. The games took place in Brentwood Tennessee. The
Intensity Team Played and defeated teams from 5 states on its way to the championship game. 15 different states were represented in the u-13 age group. KCFC is currently ranked 13th in the Nation in the u-13 girls age division.
Team Kansas City On May 13, 2006, the 9th grade Team Kansas City Select won the 15 yr old
division of the Jayhawk Classic, an Adidas sponsored national event at the Univ. of Kansas - Allen Fieldhouse. They defeated the number one ranked Nike sponsored Athletes First 58-40 in the championship game. Vondrae Tostenson of Team Kansas City Select was
the MVP while Lees Summit West's Michael Dixon made the all tournament team KC Select Scream Red
5th place in 3 v 3 World Championship Soccer Finals in Orlando, Florida.
The U-13 KC Select Scream Red 3v3 finishes 5th in the Kick it 3 versus 3 World Championship Soccer Finals in Orlando Florida. Scream Red had a 7-1 record
losing only one game to the eventual World Champs. Scream Red posts an overall 21-3 record the last three years in Florida. (photo below)

KC Thundercats
The Kansas City Thundercats 7th Grade girls basketball team is making its mark in Kansas City and the nation! The Thundercats have been the number one
ranked Missouri Girls Basketball Team over the last two seasons winning more than 400 games since they started in 2002. This girls team has not lost a tournament since May 2005. KC Tarheels Nike 13U Midwest Regional Middle School National Championships in Henderson, Kentucky.
This sets them up to go and play in the Nike National Championship in a couple of months. (See photo below)
