Directions to William Jewell: 500 College Hill, Liberty, MO 64068
I-35 to Liberty exit 16 (State Hwy 152) continues on 152, which becomes Kansas St., through the various shopping center intersections and traffic signals. Through the town square to Lightburne (Hwy 33)
you will come to a stop sign at the intersection of Kansas and Lightburne, turn right. You will come to a traffic light at the intersection of Lightburne and Mill Street, turn left. Through the next traffic light you will see the college entrance.
Proceed past the entrance to first left which directs you to the Mabee center.

High School Cheer
You may enter Competition Division (trophies will be awarded) or the Exhibition Division (certificate and evaluation only).
Rules:
High school varsity and junior varsity squads may enter.
High School Cheerleaders will follow the safety rules listed in the Spirit Rules Book 2007-2008 from the National Federation of State High School
Associations.
Cheerleaders will follow safety rules as adopted by the Missouri and Kansas High School Activities Associations if they differ from the above.
The competition divisions will be established based on either squad size or the divisions as established by the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches
Association. (To be based on number of entries).
Time Limit: You are allowed up to three minutes. There is no time limit on music. You may use all music, no music, or cheering plus music. The
minimum time is 2 minutes.
If using music, please bring back-ups on cassette or CD.
You will be cheering on a matted floor that is 40’ by 54’ (9 rolls)
Allowed props are megaphones, poms, and crowd signs.
quad Size: 8-24.
Penalties: A 25 point penalty will be subtracted from total points for each rule violation.

High School Mascot
*The high school’s official mascot may enter Competition or Exhibition Divisions and follow the National Federation Safety Rules.
*Only one mascot may be on the floor.
*The time limit is 1 ½ minutes.
*Set up time is one minute and tear down is one minute. You may have help with set up and tear down.
*Music may be used and may be on cassette or CD.
*The following props are not allowed: water or other liquids, food, confetti, or anything that may delay competition.
*No live props or assistants.
*Routines must be appropriate for family viewing.
*The judging areas:

Community Cheer Squads
*Refer to list under High School Cheer for all guidelines and judging form areas.
*Squads will be divided according to age groups.
3rd-4th
5th-6th

College Cheer
*The two divisions are All Girl Cheer and Coed Cheer.
*This event follows AACCA safety rules. Safety Certifier Terri Freeman from UMKC will serve as the penalty judge.
*Time Limit: minimum two minutes, maximum three minutes. There is no time limit on music. You may use all music, no music, or cheering plus music.
*If using music, please bring back-ups on cassette or CD.
*Your music and performance must be appropriate for family viewing.
*You will be cheering on a matted floor that is 40’ by 54’ (9 rolls)

High School Dance
*High school dance teams may enter as many categories as desired:
Dance/Jazz
*Either precision jazz or lyrical jazz
*No props
Hip Hop
*Lyrics & dance moves must be family appropriate
*No props
Pom
*Use poms 80% of the time
*No other props
Kick
*Minimum of 50 team-performed kicks
*At least waist-high kicks
Novelty/Prop
*Can be both novelty (theme) and prop
*If prop, no more than three props
*If novelty, props are optional
*Dance teams will follow the safety rules listed in the Spirit Rules Book 2007-2008 from the National Federation of State High School Associations.
*The competition divisions will be based on routine category.
*Time Limit: three minutes maximum, two minutes minimum.
*Please bring back up music on either cassette or CD.
*Team size: any amount
*You will be dancing on a wooden basketball floor.
*Penalties: A 25 point penalty will be subtracted from total points for each safety rule violation (including appropriateness).
*Costumes, music lyrics, and choreography must be appropriate for family viewing.
