Metro Sports Broadcasting Camp for Intermediate & Advanced Level Students
7th grade through College

The Metro Sports broadcast camp gives students a unique opportunity to learn about the sports broadcasting business from and along side the experienced staff at Metro
Sports.
Metro Sports staff will teach students the basic of broadcast journalism so they understand the teamwork and skills required both in front of the camera and behind the
scenes to create a successful daily broadcast.
Student lessons will include:
Producing Writing Interviewing Video photography & Editing Weather reporting Sports and News Reporting Anchoring Creating graphics for broadcast
Students will also receive free t-shirts and DVD copies
of on camera performances on the Metro Sports set.
Camp Bonus: Invest in your future!
Most importantly for high School and college students, this camp provides hands-on technical training on video cameras and editing systems. By enrolling in this
broadcast camp, students could become eligible for future internships or freelance positions at Metro Sports! A 2007 camp participant is now working steadily as a freelancer with
Metro Sports!

Monday –Thursday 8 am to 5 pm
*Scholarship requirements based on financial need: If a student qualifies for the free lunch program at their school, they would
qualify for a scholarship into the camp. The student/parents need to have a letter from the school on school letterhead that states they qualify and receive the federal free lunch program in public schools. This letter must be sent in with the
registration. There will be a limited number of scholarships available and they will be rewarded on a first come basis.
