What does it take to be a sound basketball player,
strong in fundamental skills and mental toughness,
to play the game at all levels?

At the Metro Sports Youth basketball camp, you’ll have a chance to learn from well known coaches who know the answers!

MSY Basketball Camp coaches, both former Division I basketball players, Calvin Thompson (Kansas University) and Victor Williams (Oklahoma State University) worked their way to the top through dedicated hard work and focus on fundamentals. Both lead recognized youth programs in the KC Metro area and have over 20 years of experience sharing their success with male and female athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Coach Thompson and Williams will assist players in developing and strengthening participant skills in the proper fundamentals of basketball including:

• Passing/catching

• Ball handling

• Post moves

• Guard skills

• Shooting

• Lay-ups

• Defense

• ...and much more!

Plus, these coaches know what it takes to play at high school and the college levels. Other areas of improving one's basketball game as well as life lessons will include

• Academic preparation

• Physical preparation

• Mental preparation

There will be two sessions: 1) Girls and boys grades 3 to 5  2) Girls and boys grades 6 to 8.

(Boys and girls will be separated for station work.)

Metro Sports Youth will also incorporate the NAIA’s Champions of Character and Enjoy the Game character development and sportsmanship programs into the camp to emphasize the positive role student athletes have in the community on and off the field.

All campers receive a Metro Sports t-shirt

Metro Sports will produce a basketball skills show based on the stations and drills Thompson and Williams teach the campers.
